Braintree Panthers

Description:

This piece was commissioned by the Braintree, VT Historical Society in conjunction with Vermont’s Bicentennial. A committee of residents helped decide the subject matter and I designed the sculpture to enable children to easily climb up onto it. We were able to quarry the granite from an abandoned quarry in the town of Braintree.

Date: 1991

Medium: Granite.

Location: Braintree, VT.

Directions: Get off I 89 at Exit 4. Go to Randolph and head up the steep hill at the blinking light. Take the left fork til you reach a stop at the top of Braintree Hill. Turn right and go about a half mile to the Braintree Meetinghouse. The sculpture is on the lawn in front of the building.
