Sleeping Cats

This pair of “Sleeping Cats” was designed to be placed on a large boulder at a private residence in Vermont. After making a few small clay models, we arrived at this design for larger than life cats (around 30”). We made a mold of the surface of the boulder and modeled the clay cats directly on the plaster surface for a perfect fit. My clients wanted this as their memorial in lieu of a “tombstone.” I have always tried to interest people in having something like this that they can enjoy while alive. It also saves their loved ones from having to figure out what to do as a memorial while they are grieving.
